HOW TO MAXIMIZE FUN FACTOR & MINIMIZE MISHAPS

I had so much fun shooting a segment with Mark and Christina for Hallmark Channel’s Home & Family last week. The topic? How to focus on family fun and minimize mishaps by preparing for every conceivable (in-transit) situation. WATCH VIDEO HERE!

BEAUTY
Flying will suck the moisture from your face and body. To arrive looking fresh as a daisy, throughout the flight, I pat my face with moisturizer and lubricate my eyes with Refresh eye drops. Scunci headbands are perfect for taming wayward tresses.

COOTIES
Cooties are a huge issue. I wipe down the tray and armrest with anti-bacterial wipes. I always bring the Bug Off Chair Cover to cover the airplane seat. This washable fabric cover is a barrier between me and the filthy seat. Wipes are also used to open and close the bathroom door. And to flush the toilet. When traveling with small children Potty Toppers and Munchkin multi-use pads are a must.

MEDICAL MALADIES
For medical maladies that may crop up en route, always have kids and adult Advil, Pepto Bismol, Imodium, Band Aids and antibiotic ointment on hand. For ascending and descending, I am a huge fan of Ear Planes, which regulate air pressure naturally within the ear.

DIVERSIONS
Kids are kids. They get bored. Keep your children engaged with interactive games, books, an iPad or old school coloring books and stickers.

SNACKS ON-THE-GO
Always prepare for big delays and stock your carry on and suitcase with easy-to-transport snacks.

BRIBERY MATERIALS
Travel means bending the rules. Always have forbidden foods to squelch explosive situations (gummies, chocolate, lollipops) . Your seat mates will thank you.
